Peter’s Fighter of the Night

6/08/2008 10:05:00 AM
PETER Bunker travelled to Bunbury on Saturday night to compete in the biggest fight show ever held in the South West.

Representing Margaret River Boxing Club, Peter is the first Muay Thai fighter to come out of our town.

Peter fought three tough rounds to defeat his opponent from a long established Muay Thai club in Mandurah.

Fighting in the welter weight division (67kg class), his bout was one of the fights of the night.

Peter has been training with Margaret River Boxing Club for more than two years and has dedicated his life to the sport training under the watchful eye of Scott Anderson, a former boxing and Muay Thai champion.

Peter has trained five days a week plus two to three road running sessions per week.

It was a close decision at the end of the night when Peter came close to taking out the Fighter of the Night award–he just missed but was given an honourable mention from the judges.

Peter thanks Scott Anderson for all the time and effort he put into training him and to Ian Hedley (owner Margaret River Boxing Club) for making the whole thing happen.

Margaret River Boxing Club now has the outstanding club record of four boxing bouts, three wins, one loss and Muay Thai Boxing one fight one win.

This week a new boxing class is starting for 18 and under guys and girls at the club.

For more details phone the club on 97588 866.
