WITH the Australian Junior Titles scheduled for Margaret River in December, it’s only fitting that Margaret River blitzed the Quiksilver Junior State Titles on the weekend at Trigg Beach.

In round three, Bronte Macaulay of Gracetown won the Under 16 Girls event, sister Laura Macaulay the Under 18 Girls, Jack Robinson the Under 14 Boys, Creed McTaggart the Under 16 Boys and Matt Baldock the Under 18 Boys.

The under 18 junior men’s was the most hotly contested division, with number one seed Matt Baldock (Margaret River) a clear standout in the preliminary rounds.

The under 18 girls final saw Laura and Bronte battle it out.

Local Jack Robinson proved he’s the real deal with wins in both the under 16 and under 14 boys division.

He is the youngest surfer to qualify for the WA under 16s State team.

The WA State Junior Surfing Team now boasts a team full of Margaret River groms.

Final results:

Under 18 Boys: 1. Matt Baldock (Margaret River), 2. Mitch Nesbitt (Cottesloe), 3. Darcy Maynard (Trigg), 4. Jethro Hedstrom (Margaret River).

Under 18 Girls: 1. Bronte Macaulay (Gracetown), 2. Laura Macaulay (Gracetown), 3. Mikaela Greene (Yallingup), 4. Danielle Green (Mandurah).
