Equirama gallops back for December

13/08/2008 9:39:00 AM
AFTER the successful inaugural show last year, Equirama will take place again in Margaret River on December 6 and 7, expected to attract more than 4000 people.

Celebrating a horse and horsepower theme, it will include two days of rodeo, campdrafting, showjumping, cutting, freestyle motocross, and the feature event starring Dan James in the Australian Equine Show.

Equirama co-ordinator Kent Osmotherly said it will be non stop action with Australia’s best horsemen and women.

“We want to provide WA’s own equine stampede through professional organised sports and entertainers that will showcase Australia’s equine heritage,” he said.

Celebrity horseman Dan James said he has developed a show that creates a strong sense of pride and place for many Australians.

“The horse is so much a part of Australia’s cultural identity,” he said.

The Australia Equine Show will feature the many culturally diverse disciplines from various horsemen and women with diversified backgrounds representing the history of horses down under.

Gourmet food and wine will be available on site to enjoy while looking over the landscapes of the property located on Osmington Road.

Families with children will be catered for with pony rides and for the adventurous, children can ride with the rodeo mutton busters.

On the serious side of the weekend will be the Premium Horse Sale, an opportunity to invest in some of the best horses on the market.

Trade displays will also add to the festive atmosphere that will provide something to do for all.
