IT’S on again–the Emergency Services Ball 2008 is themed Hot, Wet and Wild to mark 60 years of Margaret River Volunteer Bushfire Brigades.
Celebrating all emergency personnel in the shire, the ball is from 6.30pm to 12pm on Saturday, October 4 at the Margaret River Cultural Centre.
Dance to the music of The Playboys, and enjoy the bar, supper, prizes, raffle, an auction, best dressed prize, and a free drink on arrival.
There will be static displays from all local emergency service groups.
Tickets are $50, with an early bird special of $45 before August 31, available from Arts Margaret River on 9758 7316, from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
A bus service is available.
The event is supported and sponsored by the Local Emergency Management Committee and the Augusta-Margaret River Shire.
Money raised on the night will go to Margaret River Sea Rescue to buy a dedicated vehicle for emergency rescues.
The group is also seeking a corporate sponsor to help to buy the 4x4 vheicle.

Mr Temby, who started the first local volunteer fire brigade in 1948, said anyone who had items of a historical nature about the early activities of the shire bushfire brigades could contact him on 9757 2016.
These items would be gratefully received and put on display in the foyer during the night’s activities.
There are more than 1000 emergency service personnel in the shire, most of them volunteers.
